El Porvenir by María Ilda Garcia Aguirre is a microlot produced in Masaguara, Intibuca, Honduras, on three hectares of clay soil. María’s transition to specialty production is family-driven and focuses on quality improvement, access to specialty markets, and building new infrastructure like solar dryers. She grows the IHCAFE 90 variety, a hybrid selected for its balance, gentle acidity, approachable fruit notes, and rust resistance. The coffee is hand-picked, washed with a 24-hour fermentation, and dried slowly for 25 days, resulting in a clean cup profile with fruit highlights and sugarcane sweetness.
El Porvenir embodies Intibucá’s emerging specialty profile and the personal journey of a producer committed to advancing quality through sustainable farming and collaborative market access.
