Peru Norica Perez Vargas Washed Espresso - Single Origin

Norica Perez Vargas, alongside her husband Gary, upholds a family coffee tradition; having transitioned from conventional production to specialty coffees since 2019 to secure better livelihoods for themselves and their son. Initially challenged by low quality from their Bourbon, Marsellesa, and Geisha varieties, they pivoted to anaerobic and washed processing methods, which unlocked superior results and prompted investments in farm infrastructure for enhanced quality control. Nestled near a virgin forest with a distinctive microclimate ideal for specialty lots, Norica's independent operation features harvests in the middle of each year, followed by drying on beds over 20 days to yield clean, vibrant coffees.

Washed Peru coffees are known for their clean, balanced profiles that highlight the country's high-altitude Andean terroir. Norica’s coffee presents as a profile with gentle sweetness, medium body, and soft balanced acidity.
