Kenya Ibonia Estate Peaberry Washed Filter - Single Origin

Ibonia Estate is a 200 hectare farm just outside Kiambu town in Kenya, where nearly 60% of the land is covered in wild natural forest. The estate focuses on maintaining the local ecosystem, and native wildlife such as deer, rabbits, owls, hawks, and reptiles are regularly observed on the property.

Coffee on the estate is grown primarily from the SL28 variety, which the management consider particularly well suited to the farm’s conditions. Cherries are harvested when ripe and processed using the traditional Kenyan method, with washing through float tanks and a second wash in fresh local water, followed by drying on raised beds. The resulting cup profile reflects the structure and brightness typical of high quality Kenyan SL28, influenced by the farm’s environment and processing approach.
